How long does a domain name transfer take?

A domain name transfer requires a minimum of 1 business day.

That means if you request to have your domain name/s transferred on a Friday you should not contact us about the request until at least the Monday of the next week. The transfer process is somewhat involved and can take several days.

You'll receive an approval email if your email is listed as the domain owner or your registrar will then contact you and ask if you approve of the domain name transfer. They also have to make sure that you don't owe them any money and that your account is in good standing (so this could add another day). The other registrar that you are leaving usually will take their time to reply to this request so they don't lose your business too fast.
